Telstra Country Wide (Tas) – Account Executive Govt (Hobart, Feb 04)
Account responsibility for agency, authority and business enterprises within a top Telstra account, specifically: the Australian Antarctic Division, Economic Development, Health & Human Services, Justice, Motor Accidents Insurance Board, Port Arthur Authority, Printing Authority, Retirement Benefits Fund Tasmania, Tasmanian Electoral Commission, Tasmania Fire Services and the TT-Line. Liaison was at senior executive level, and required coordination of pre-sales, product customisation, project management, and dedicated service delivery and customer care activities for all voice, data and mobile services.Assumed lead role for the Whole of Government Mobiles Contract with the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and employed strategic account techniques to maintain revenue and triple quarterly sales. Together with the Managing Director, established the Australian subsidiary of Stratech Systems Limited (Singapore) to compete for business in the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems), E-Business and Computer Vision markets. High-level relationships were established with prospective customers, integration partners and acquisition targets in Australasia. Secured alliances with Alstom, APC, ERG, OnQ, Think, Transfield, in joint bids for Western Sydney Transitways, Integrated Ticketing Sydney, Singapore Tourism Portal, Shell International autoserve ERP Pilot.

Norwich Union – Special Projects PM.
Fast-tracked the Superannuation Contributions Tax project. Of critical interest to Group Compliance, a concurrent development approach delivered key process and system changes in 3 months.
Peninsula Health – MEPACS Strategic Analyst. Developed a full business strategy for the Mt Eliza Personal Assistance Call Service to realise a fourfold growth over 5 years. The Board submission included product development plans based on focus groups, demographics and demand cycles; then completed tender and costed options for business relocation, revised staffing, and new IT, telephony, CTI and CRM business support systems.
EnRole – Implementation PM. SMS sought to establish Resource Provisioning Management as a business service offering. In a strategic initiative with the Singapore office of Access360, received administrative and implementation accreditation for SMS in the product.
CitiPower – Contestable Gas Billing BA. Provided a strategic overview of alternative billing systems in use in the Australasian market, their market share, strengths, customers and suitability to support the introduction of contestable gas and electricity billing at CitiPower.
Sausage Interactive – BDM. Worked a new set of accounts to assist Sausage Interactive develop a greater presence in Sydney – from their traditional Melbourne home.
Sausage – Security BA. Undertook a security review of the SMS, Sausage Interactive and Pronto companies within the Sausage Group. Workshops were facilitated for business and IT representatives to profile the current and proposed security environments.
Sausage Products – Web Hosting Services, BA. Reviewed hosting services capable of provisioning international product sales. Assessed the performance, confirmed the delivery requirements, and evaluated the migration alternatives whilst allowing for full business continuity.
Melbourne Water – GIS Upgrade PM. End to end upgrade of the Geographic Information System upgrade to 32-bit. Six vendors were engaged to convert, replace or customise system components, while maintaining full integration with to linked asset and planning systems. Delivery was on time and budget to seven servers, across four sites, and 15 client installation packages. Full training, support arrangements and closure report were handed off to the System Manager.
Colonial Mutual – SAS Migration, System Analyst. Authored and collated documents for the business cutover of the Colonial Universal Superannuation Portfolio sufficient for the Sydney team to assume full and continuing responsibility.
Colonial Mutual – AFS IT Centralisation, PM. For Superannuation, Unit Trust and Life businesses managed the preliminary assessment, project charter, IT and support requirements and relocation of six call centres from Melbourne to Sydney.
Telstra On-line Channel – BA. Specified functional requirements for the integration of the product and services catalogue with the existing automated e-mail tracking and management system (Kana).
Optus – ADSCC Bid Coordinator. Controlled the clarification process for Optus’ Australian Defence Satellite Communications Capability bid. Registered C&W Optus Satellites Pty Ltd which ultimately delivered C1, the world’s largest hybrid satellite. Provided infrastructure support for establishment of a program office in anticipation of winning the tender.
Telstra – Y2K Network Program PM. Managed the progression of International and Network Design & Construction applications through Telstra’s Year 2000 compliance verification process. Reviewed work orders and variations for programme approval.

Liaised with product principals, coordinated marketing, and negotiated reseller and service agreements. Other products included SQRIBE production reporting tools and Visigenic ORBS.

Managed the Australasian market for Hiac Royco particle counters – computer controlled laser sensors and samplers used for testing fluid contamination levels in the pharmaceutical, oil, defence and water industries. Presented product line and defined data requirements for quality control, production monitoring and R&D according to each customer’s needs. Administered the IT network and introduced computerised accounting, inventory systems, and organisational pro-formas. Achieved significant sales growth by capturing and qualifying prospects, progressing quotations, formalising ongoing service and calibration contracts, and divesting service responsibilities to maximise sales.

Launceston City Council – Geomatics Analyst (Launceston, Jan 94)
Extended a public works geographic information system (GIS) to cover 300+ parks, reserves, play-parks, sports grounds and bushland surrounds. Defined, mapped and digitised bush, tree, surface and irrigation assets in a leading GIS (Genamap). Assets were valued against AS27 and other useful indices of social, historical and biological value.
